On Saturday, April 26th, the club will take a ride to Shatley Springs in Crumpler, North Carolina for lunch.  Lunch features home cooking served family style.  Come join our Corvette family for a fun afternoon.  We will meet at the first rest area in Virginia at 12:15 p.m. and leave from there at 12:30 p.m.  We plan to eat lunch at 2 p.m.  Hope to see you there!

 

Mayberry Days

Mt. Airy, NC

Reservations have been made for our trip to Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, September 27, 2008.  To make a reservation at the Quality Inn call 1-336-789-2000.  When you reach the office, tell them you are with American Legend Corvette Club and then they will make your reservation with your personal credit card.  The rate is $115/night.  Some rooms have a king bed and some rooms have a double bed.  We reserved the last 11 rooms that they had.  (This is a very big weekend in Mt. Airy and most all hotels are already sold out.)  Reservations must be made by September 1st at which time the rooms will be released.  Cancellations can be made up to 6 p.m. on the 27th.  Continental breakfast is included.  Rooms have hair dryers, irons and ironing boards.  Some rooms have coffee pots.  There is an outdoor pool.  Directions, I-77, exit 101 (I-74 east). 8 miles to exit 11 (hwy 601), turn left at light. 

 

Pine Mountain State Park

October 10-12, 2008

Look what awaits us in October!  Darris has been able to book a block of rooms at Pine Mountain State Park in Middlesboro, Kentucky, for the weekend of October 10-12, 2008.  To make a reservation call 606-337-3066.  Ask for a room under American Legend Corvette Club group.  Rooms are $104.95 per night but a AAA discount or a senior discount for those over 62 will be taken off that if you tell them you belong. Rooms will be held until June 30th at which time they will be released. (We have 9 rooms booked; however, if you should call and all rooms are gone, there are some 2 bedroom cabins available, but we do not have any of those booked.)  Mark your calendar – it will be great fun!

Welcome new members and guests:  During April we are pleased to welcomed                      our newest members, Glen and Jackie Rose from Jonesborough, Tn.  Extend                           a warm welcome to them!

 

 

Attention: the May trip to the Lodge has been cancelled due to a change in operation at Wolf Laurel. Please bring any proposals for a replacement activity to the May 10th club meeting or email Darris your suggestions.

 

Next club meeting is May 10th in Kingsport at the Sagebrush Steakhouse at 1:00pm. Following the meeting we will ride to the Elizabethton Cruise-In for an evening of fun.
